Facebook: 5 people never to friend from work

Your boss: Friending your boss on Facebook might seem like a good way to get close to your manager, but in this case it may be too close for comfort. "If you friend your boss on Facebook, and then complain about them or share something too personal, they might lose trust in you, not take you seriously and potentially replace you," notes branding expert Dan Schawbel, CEO of Millennial Branding.
Your HR rep:Friending your human resources representative comes with many of the same issues as friending your boss. "If you friend your HR representative on Facebook, and then reveal a company secret or criticize your boss, then they will have more than enough reason to report you to your manager," says Schawbel.
Your office "frenemy”: Ifyou have a less-than-friendly office competitor, don't take the "keep your friends close and enemies closer" approach via Facebook. "Schadenfreude, envy, competitive juices and just plain score-keeping is a terrific reason for keeping frenemies out of your life and your FB commentary," says Ellen Lubin-Sherman, author of The Essentials of Fabulous: Because Whatever Doesn't Work Here Anymore. Someone who doesn't have your best interests at heart face-to-face will jump at any opportunity to find a skeleton online and bring it out of your closet.

A previous boss :If you leave a company on great terms with your boss, by all means, stay in touch -- on LinkedIn, suggests David Couper, career coach and author of Outsider On The Inside: How To Create A Winning Career...Even When You Don't Fit In!. If you want to reconnect for professional reasons (for a reference or new job, for example) you'll be glad you kept the two zones of your life -- professional and personal -- absolutely separated.

Anyone you manage: Youmaintains a certain image in the office, and it's almost impossible to perfectly maintain that same image online, even with strict settings. "Again, you may disclose information that could be damaging. For example, if you show a picture of you enjoying the sights on a 'business trip' you may lose credibility with your team," says Couper.

Positive influence…

By vinod Bidwaik

I have seen some people who always are worried. They face all the problems in the world. They do not get any support from their colleagues. Their children fell ill frequently. The tyre of their vehicle goes flat and so on. Why all the misfortune happens with them only? If you observe these people closely, you will find common thing among all this misfortunate people and that is their negative attitude and people around them. The evil is in their mind.

People are unhappy for material things which they don’t have. They are not happy for what they have. Like minded people come together. Their whole world becomes negative. They pay higher price for not being positive.  The problem is we choose the life which we don’t want and don’t choose the life which we want! Being happy is the choice. I don’t say that being happy will avoid your flat tyres or illness of your child, but you will find more energy to deal with it. You will have not to pay anything extra for being positive.

We should learn to choose the reality. This will help to design the life. This world is very big and there are all types of realities are happening simultaneously. Positive and negative happenings are also the reality of life, but the effect of the negativity on your life will make you unhappy. Positivity plays important role to neutralize the negativity.

One of the friends was not confident to take the higher position. He denied lot of opportunities saying that he was not ready to take the higher position. After few years he was far away from the competition. He had to struggle.

For many, it's not so much a search to find values and a purpose to base their lives on as a search for an identity, an image, with a heavy emphasis on individuality. This individuality is built on positive thinking. To change negativity into positive energy, just reverse the belief you want to change and say it to yourself over and over again, using all your enthusiasm and excitement.

We should ask the question, what we want to be known and remembered for the negative attitude or positive influence we have on others.

You are a Masterpiece

By Author Unknown

"A plum once said,'just because a banana lover came by,I converted myself into a banana. Unfortunately, his taste changed after a few months and so I became an orange.  When  he said I was bitter I became an apple, but he went in search  of grapes. Yielding  to the opinions of so many people, I
have changed so many times that I no more know who I am. How I wish I had remained a plum and waited for a plum lover.'

Just because  a group of people do not accept you as you are, there is no necessity for you to strip yourself of your originality. You need to think Good of yourself, for  the  world  takes you  at your own estimate. Never stoop down  in  order to gain recognition. Never let go of your true self to win a relationship. In  the long run, you  will regret that you traded your  greatest  Glory -  your uniqueness, for momentary  validation. Even Gandhi  was  not  accepted by many people. The group that does not accept you as YOU is not Your world.

There is a world for each one of you, where you shall reign as king /queen by just being yourself.  Find that world... In fact, that world will find You.

What water can do, gasoline cannot and  what copper can, gold cannot. The fragility of  the  ant enables  it  to  move and the rigidity of the tree enables  it  to  stay rooted.  Everything and everybody has been designed with  a  Proportion  of uniqueness to serve a purpose that we can fulfill only by being our
unique self. You as you alone can serve your purpose and I as I Alone can serve my purpose. You are here to be you... Just YOU.

There  was  a  time in  this world when a Krishna was required and he was sent;  A time  when  a Christ was required and he was sent; a time when a Mahatma was  Required  and  he  was sent;  a  time  when a J.R.D.Tata was required and he was Sent. There came a time when you were required on this planet and hence you were sent.Let us be the best we can be.In the history of the universe, there  has  been  nobody  like you and to the infinity of time to come, there will be no one like you.Existence should have loved you so much that it broke the mould after making you, so that another of your kind  will  never  get repeated. You a re original. You are rare. You are unique. You are a wonder. You are a masterpiece. .. Your  Master's piece. Celebrate your Uniqueness.

Why I Love Employees Who Ask 'Why'

By Harvey Mackay.

Conventional wisdom says they're a pain. In reality, they are doing you a huge favor.

What you do and how you do it are important. But it's the "why" that provides the real motivation to succeed.

The Power of Why

An experiment conducted by the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School of Business demonstrates the power of "why." At a university call center where employees phone alumni to solicit donations, the staff was randomly divided into three groups: The first group read stories written by former call center employees about the benefits of the job (such as improved communication and sales skills). The second group shared accounts from former students about how their scholarships helped them with their education, careers and lives. The third, a control group, read nothing, just explained the purpose of the call and asked for a contribution.

After a month, the researchers found that the first group and the third group raised roughly the same amount of money from alumni after the experiment began as before. But callers in the second group, who had related the stories about the impact of the scholarships students received from the fund-raising campaign, raised twice as much money from twice as many alumni as they had before.

Understanding the importance of their work – the "why" – apparently motivated them to get better results. Put another way, as I like to say: A salesperson tells, a good salesperson explains and a great salesperson demonstrates.

I'll go so far as to proclaim that the most important question you can train your employees to ask is "why?" Does that send shivers up your spine? Let me explain.

Why conventional wisdom is backwards

When an employee asks why the company does things a certain way, and you can explain the logical reason, then the employee knows what she's doing is valid. But if you can't begin to hazard a guess beyond the "we've always done it this way reply, your employee must reconsider her motivation. If you don't know why you're doing what you're doing, you need to thank the employee who gave you the wake-up call.

Same goes for training. When I listen to a mentor describe the most effective way to sell an envelope, or the best approach for a hot prospect, or even our preferred method of answering the phone, I'm expecting to hear not only the "how" but also the "why."

The conventional wisdom has been that bosses manage and employees do what they're told. We've learned that thinking is upside down. The people who are "doing" often bring better ideas forward because they challenged traditional practices.

Innovation is not the exclusive domain of leadership. Pay attention to those employees who respectfully ask why. They are demonstrating an interest in their jobs and exhibiting a curiosity that could eventually translate into leadership ability. Encourage them to offer their suggestions and give their ideas serious consideration. They may be the brave ones who reach for the bananas!

Mackay's Moral: To quote educator Diane Ravitch: "The person who knows `how' will always have a job. The person who knows `why' will always be his boss."
