Wall or Within

In Ancient China, the people desired security from the people, to the north so they built the great Chinese wall. It was so high they knew no one could climb over it and so thick that nothing could break it down. It was made of good cement, steel, bricks and other materials found on the earth. They relaxed and started to enjoy the security of the wall. In first hundred years of the great wall of China, China was invaded three times. Not once did the invader break down the wall or climb over the top. Each time they bribed the holder of the key and then marched right through the gates. The Chinese were so busy relying upon the walls of stone, cement and steel that they forgot to earn trust and respect. In other words they were defeated from within.
Ancient Rome trusted in its military mite but turned to licentious living, as no one held them back and there was no call from within. They too, were defeated and destroyed from within.
The same principle holds true for both nations — and it also holds true for the corporates, country, individuals and groups. If we turn away from within, we too will ultimately be destroyed from within. We need to strengthen ourselves from within and then we can change the outer world.
Dhirubhai Ambani, earned respect and trust of his people and stayed on course of his life and career, this was integral to Dhirubhai. He never let the trust and respect he earned, from within pass by. He stayed with his people and his life and showed the world that by earning respect, he could win battles and build an empire which is on made of 20-30% of his own money, rest was peoples cause he trusted himself and that is why people trusted him with his earning.

We spend our lives building wall of steel, cement and stone but actually we need to build wall of trust, respect and dignity to be there, the other will follow.
